Alfonsine Mukangwige, aged 42, widow since the genocide, having lost her husband as well as her unique child during the genocide. All of her family members have disappeared. Raped by the interhamwe militia, she is HIV positive. Depressive, she unremittingly follows the group therapies organised by Avega, as today, in a communal building of Nyamata.
Despite the proven participation of numerous men and women of the Church during the genocide, despite the Vatican’s unrolled efforts to conceal reality, most of the Rwanda population maintains a blind faith to the Christian Church, omnipersent here.
