You can’t keep living like this, ma’am...

Police intervention at the home of a victim of domestic violence. Two police officers try to calm the husband in another room while female police inspectors look after the victim and their two children. The man will later be taken to the police station for the night. His wife will file a complaint and will temporarily take her children and leave their home, at the recommendation of the police.
The presence of women on the police force, which has increased markedly in recent years, has led to a noticeable change in inspector sensitivity, particularly in cases of domestic violence-related interventions. Every day, nearly 60 people file complaints of violence within their relationship in Belgium.
