Katya Carina, activist of the seropositive women network and Luta Pela VIHda, visit a sick woman , in the women’s quarter, Esperanza hospital, one of the two buildings of the Americo Boa-Vida hospital dedicated to HIV. Katya was hospitalized here over ten times. Her sister, her husband and her child, then eight month old, all died of AIDS.
On that day, the patients of the women’s quarter had not eaten since the previous evening: their families had not been able to visit them and the hospital food had been stolen.
